About

It is a friendly club of volunteers using most forms of electronic communication devices. We have members who assist others with the problems or questions they may have with computers and other devices, or software.

We welcome guests to bring new technology and ideas into the club.

History

The Club initially commenced in 1987 as the

SOUTHERN DISTRICTS COMMODORE USERS CLUB.

As computing changed over time, so we changed our name to reflect those changes and became the SOUTHERN DISTRICTS COMPUTER USERS CLUB INC.

The computing emphasis changed from Commodore to Microsoft PC/Apple based programs.

21st Century technology has changed dramatically and swiftly.

Our focus has been to continually enable members to become familiar with the latest cutting-edge technology not only on computers but with the more recent advances in tablets and smart phone devices.

New and exciting technologies are on the horizon and will be presented at our monthly meetings in days to come.

Membership

We cordially invite you to visit our Club meetings to meet our members, broaden your knowledge, and enjoy a friendly chat. If after two or three meetings you find you like us, we would love you to become a member.

Our monthly Club evenings are an opportunity for members and visitors to ask questions and, possibly, have hands on experience. So, if you need to refresh your skills, learn new ones, or are just interested in Information Technology, please come along and meet some like-minded individuals.

At each meeting, a door fee of $3 per person is charged and entitles you to a copy of our newsletter (SDCUCI NEWS) together with light refreshments.

Help is available as either one to one, or in groups, on selected topics

Fees to become a member are $25 per person per year, or $35 per couple
