Training
The Southern Districts Computer Users Club offers a few courses to assist members to become more effective in the use and control of their computers.
In addition there are more advances courses that look at email and web interaction as well as an introduction to digital photography.
The courses are:
Computer Basics I: A three week course of 2 hours per week.
Training on safety, safeguarding your computer, operating systems - with emphasis om the use of the desktop, icons, folders, task bar, pointer and mouse usage.
Computer Basics II: A three week course of 2 hours per week. Needs Computer Basics I as a pre-requisite – or known basic experience.
Training on installing new programs, How to use “Safe Mode”, Using MSCONFIG, System Restore, burning CD or DVD’s, looking at Windows Explorer, Memory sticks -( renaming and copying to and from), inserting images, scanning and printers.
Email and web tuition (2 week at 2 hours per week0 in the use of
using the Web as a resource: (like going to your library)
email as a resource (lik going to and using the services at the post office).
Basic Digital photography. 2 week course for 2 hours per week.
A bit about cameras, how to upload / download to computers tuition on photo enhancing , scanning and printing using Photoshop .
Course prices are $40 - $50 per course per person. Where husband and wife attend (or partner) a $5 discount applies as only one set of course notes is provided.
